User-Centric Design

Designing accessible and appropriate software and technology for rural users requires an in-depth understanding of users' capabilities, perceptions and task models. Drawing lessons from several time-tested methods for contextual study and usability analysis, ekgaon has evolved a novel and holistic method for User-centric Design in the rural, multi-cultural, multi-lingual context. With an emphasis on organic, in-citu techniques, ekgaon spends long stretches of time in field, understanding the culture, capabilities, education and perspective of each set of users. And, most importantly, understanding each set of users as fellow human beings.

ekgaon has found that it's well-grounded approach to the design process has benefits outside of rural communities as well. Using a methodology based on experience with the most inexperienced users has prepared us with unique approaches to the design process in any context.
