ekgaon co-founder and Director, Tapan S Parikh has been awarded 2007 Humanitarian of the Year Award by Technology Review 2007 Young Innovator Award (under 35), USA. The prestigious award is shared by leading technology innovator all cross the world including Larry Page and Sergey Brin (Google Founders), Sabeer Bhatia (Hotmail fame) and Mark Zuckerberg (Developer of Social Networking phenomenon Facebook), amongst others.

ekgaon's project “Enabling financial inclusion and increasing efficiency of Self Help Groups Microcredit Federations”, has been awarded the first Stockholm Challenge GKP awards 2007 in the Economic Development category. The winners were selected amongst nine finalists chosen by an international jury as the best examples of the role of Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) for Development

ekgaon has been working with Companies, Government, Non Government organisations, Community Based organisations, Universities, banks and other commercial organisations at local, national and global levels providing products and services ranging from technology solutions, enterprise development frameworks, setting up helplines, communication information assessments, market surveys, webportals, multilingual database management systems, mobile technologies, communications systems development etc.

ekgaon is one of the founder members of emerging market consortium MAPSCON; that is first of its kind in South Asia. We had been founding members of Indic-Computing consortium, working on Indic language development for computers enabling access to computing in mother tongue. We have been recognised by institutions such as Reserve Bank of India (RBI), NABARD, India for our innovations in the banking sector.
