  Why we are Innovative

ekgaon believes in innovation; doing things differently by creating new roadmaps in areas un-reached using technology has been our strength. We have created global visibility for our innovative work in microfinance sector, which include; developing color coded paper based Management Information Systems for Self Help Groups (SHGs) which has been also awarded by International Development programme, SEEP, USAID in year 2003 (now available free to all from our website). Our Mobile based technology (CAM) for recording, storing and transferring data has won prestigious PANAsia ICT RnD Award for year 2005. ekgaon has many firsts to its list – it innovated first of its kind multilingual technology applications in development sector in India. ekgaon's project is winner of NASSCOM Social Innovation Honours 2010 - Multi Stake Holder Partnership for its project, MERComs - Tracking Entitlements of Rural Communities for Rural Livelihood Security in Odisha. Monitoring Entitlements for Rural Communities (MERComs) is a mobile phone-based monitoring system for tracking delivery of social welfare programme entitlements to rural poor.

 

The Dell Small Business Excellence Award honors businesses that apply technology in innovative ways to improve the customer experience and grow. ekgaon was chosen out of more than 5,000 applications and ten finalists as winner in the India round. Now ekgaon would represent India in a global competition of Dell Small Business Excellence Award 2009, where finalist of all countries from world would present their companies to an International Jury.

 

ekgaon's co-founder/Director and Chief Executive Officer, Vijay Pratap Singh Aditya, has been included amongst 50 Social Entrepreneurs in India by the India's premier business magazine, "The Business Outlook" in its September, 2009 special Independence Day issue. Team Leader (Software Technology) (Job code: TL-ST)
Location & No. of Positions: Madurai - Two

Will lead project teams resource management, execution and implementation. Team Leader would have overall administrative and financial management responsibilities for the project. Liaise with clients for specification development and delivery of services post project delivery. The desired skills and experience:

  • Management and or Technology graduate with 4-5 years of demonstrated project and team management skills in leading consultancy and/or software development firms.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to develop and manage multi-sector and multi-location teams.
  • Excellent analytical & co-ordination skills, ability to motivate the team & deliver results against short timelines including project implementation.
  • Should have worked in minimum of five projects as part of professional engagement in software technologies.

Senior Software Programmer (Job code: SSP)

  • Graduate/ Post Graduate in Engineering, Computer application with 3-5 years of demonstrable experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in PHP / MySQL / PostGresql / XML / CSS / RSS / JAVA / AJAX / XSS / CURL / PERL, Image toolkit and W3C standards.
  • Experience in CMS packages such as Drupal, Joomla, Mambo and payment gateways.
