System Analysis and Need Assessment

ekgaon's methodology of system analysis begins with an in-depth analysis of the perceived needs as assessed by the client. In many of the systems we have studied, the gap between the perceived and actual needs of the user community ends up to be quite large. This is particularly true in some of the rural areas where we work, where there are many misconceptions about technology and the role it can play in augmenting and facilitating productivity systems.

Before producing any complete system specification we perform a painstaking system analysis to mark out the real gaps between the perceived and actual user needs. The client is then presented with a complete functional specification for his feedback. Before beginning system development we will discuss the complete requirements specification and deliverables with the client, integrating any recommendations and taking feedback. We take great care to include end users in each phase of the design and development process, and iterate on the final system design until the user is satisfied and comfortable with the working of the system.

Our systems analysis and needs assessment studies are rich in user interaction, and are often conducted in tandem with contextual design studies. This ensures that our solutions are always accessible and usable to the people we intend to serve.
